OMM have teamed up with BOK (Bristol Orienteering Klub) and NGOC (North Gloucestershire Orienteering Club) to bring you an epic weekend of orienteering races.

Orienteering is a race that doesn’t follow a set route. You are given a detailed map to help you find your own way between a series of checkpoints to the finish.  The winner is the runner who completes the whole course, in the correct order in the fastest time.

With a choice of urban orienteering in the picturesque town of Ross-On-Wye perched dramatically above the river, or Forest Orienteering in one of the most beautiful and interesting forests in the UK, it really is the very best opportunity to try orienteering for the first time.

There will be a wide range of courses available for all ages and abilities from toddlers who can try the string course, (where they may come across some interesting and sweet tasting controls), complete beginners, runners or walkers to people who can easily use a map to navigate. Walkers are welcome, as are pairs of competitors. All courses are colour coded by their length and technical ability, and there will be plenty of people at the assembly and registration to choose the best course for you and help you get started.

If you have a compass, then bring it along, but there will be some for you to borrow at the start.

Weekend camping (4-6 May) for 1 tent / caravan / motorhome is included in the entry fee for OMM & Outdoors Magic competitors. Orienteers and R2T2 competitors are welcome to camp at a charge of £10 per tent BUT you must book in advance here as space is limited.
